The situation is a bit complicated because the code base is currently 
being migrated from ecore HEAD to ecore SPLIT (ecore HEAD being the 
ecore library from the main branch of cvs, and SPLIT from the SPLIT 
branch).

If you want to compile e17, I don't think you need ecore SPLIT at all 
(and I don't think you need ewl nor entice). If you want to compile ewl 
and entice, do a cvs checkout of ecore SPLIT (in another dir, not the 
one where your HEAD is), build it and install it.
