Mea culpa, mea maxima culpa ...

My /etc/X11/Xmodmap was not installed properly! Yesterday
I got the suspicion that this might be the critical point.

After making a new Xmodmap-file with xkeycaps, all my shortcuts
worked nicely with

__MODIFIER_KEY __WINDOWS_KEY

>i don't think you can change the behavior of this by modifying files in
>your home/user/.enlightenment directory.

The e-"manual" says:
"To set your own keybindings, all you have to do is find the
keybindings.cfg that was installed with Enlightenment, and make a copy
in your ~/.enlightenment directory ..."

Of course you can also change the original (esp. if the changes are
supposed to work with all users), but copying the file works as well.

>oh, and when i was looking at the default keybindings.cfg file, i came
>across a shortcut already there to launch an e-term. it's
>ctl-alt-insert. :)

See, that's why I wanted the windows-key to work so desperately!

Thanks to all who helped!
(The next days I'll be busy with my key-configuration :))))))
