`indent-bars` is setup in a buffer, e.g. in a mode hook or using `dtrt-indent` 
or similar packages, `indent-bars` may not work correctly.  You _must_ ensure 
that `indent-bars-mode` is initialized _after_ all configuration work affecting 
indent spacing or style (tabs vs. space) has been done.  See [this 
issue](../../issues/127) for an example of the type of configuration needed.
