I was not able to reproduce using the given instructions. I also tried adding
LDFLAGS="-fsanitize=address" and ASAN_OPTIONS=detect_leaks=0.
As stated in https://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=33003#c3 we do not
consider sanitizer errors on corrupt files alone to be real security issues.
