Fred,
Yes, that works, and Spectrogram has a waterfall type display too. I
find that the spectral display is much easier for my eyes to discern
than the subtle shift of colors on a waterfall display - YMMV - Use
whatever works best for you.

FWIW: I've found that the waterfall display in MMTTY or MixW is easier
for me when doing the CAL FIL. No markers, but the display is much
crisper for me, and the frequency calibration marks at the top pretty
much make up for the lack of markers.
