I'm sorry I don't have time to answer all your specific questions about
the Sierra. Looks like you got help from others.
I upgraded the design significantly when it became the first Wilderness
Radio kit. I strongly recommend building that version, which comes with
a complete manual and parts kit. You can start with just one band
module, then wind more toroids whenever you're ready :)
The K1 is something of a Sierra on steroids -- higher power, digital
display included, relay switched bands, internal ATU, internal battery,
and smaller. But both rigs have their strong points.
