Seems to me it would be a lot less likely to have RF in the shack if
it was grounded, but where would it be attached? Is anyone grounding
theirs and if so where are you attaching the wire?

If you install the KAT2 antenna tuner, it has a binding post for
grounding the K2. This installs in the hole marked GND on the top
cover. If you are not planning to use a KAT2, it would still be easy
to attach a screw or post for that purpose in the same hole.
