Hi Jim, I do understand the concept of 'ground' versus paths for circuit return currents, largely thanks to your writings and slide presentations!
My recollection is that the K2 main PCB does not have internal metal layers to make up the kind of transmission lines needed to mitigate the issues you highlighted. Now I'm curious to look at my K2 main board again to see how the traces and broad area metal are fashioned. The K2 instruction manual makes clear the need to firmly attach those standoffs to the PCB and to the bottom cover, and I don't think that is just for the mechanical support of the PCB : ) . No disagreement with what you wrote, Jim - I have learned much from you. Thanks, and 73, Mike, K8CN ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to [email protected]
