Since I re acquired a nice KX1 last year I got the Begali bracket for it that allows you to mount the Adventure paddles. Actually inexpensive and makes for a great setup. I never cared for the original KXPD1 paddles although they put some effort into designing them. Another option might be Ara’s (N6ARA) tiny paddles that could plug into the front of the rig.
