I was just about to send a similar reply when this message appeared :)

Emil is correct, the upstream igb driver does not support this functionality, 
at least not yet, and currently your best bet is the sourceforge driver.  

As coincidence has it I am currently testing a patch that adds that 
functionality to the upstream igb driver and assuming it passes (so far looks 
good) we will probably push it to the net-next kernel in the near future.
