yea people say that installing linux/bsd is better, but i at least get pretty good hardware support for the base system, and if i choose to just use osx, i can do all the usual web/flash/multimedia stuff without the pain of making linux/bsd software work. also its just nicer to let someone else use my laptop (friends and relatives) who probably don't care about linux/bsd/dwm/gnome/kde etc... given that osx is a certified unix system, its no better/worse than any other *nix clone/derivative of your choice. and its probably best to leave this topic out of the discussion. i'm actually quite happy with how i have things setup right now, even if there are still some minor quirks im neither pleased nor displeased with osx's gui. i just happen to prefer dwm and x11 for my work stuff. jimmy -- Jimmy Tang Trinity Centre for High Performance Computing, Lloyd Building, Trinity College Dublin, Dublin 2, Ireland. http://www.tchpc.tcd.ie/ | http://www.tchpc.tcd.ie/~jtang
