I just purchased a 6.4GB Toshiba drive for my Duo 2300. While I'm waiting to get it I thought it would be interesting to get some before-and-after speed comparisons. Of course I want to compare drives but I also want to see if it starts up and shuts down quicker as well as launching applications. What would be the best utility to check this? Also, any tips or recommendations on initializing/formating the drive (a Toshiba MK-6411MAT). I have a DuoDock with an internal drive that I can boot from and then initialize/format the drive.
