Folks,
I trust all is well. I apologize in advance for the nebulousness of
this email.
I am the process of implementing Dspace 4.1 for our resource center
and I was wondering if I may ask for some advice. The purpose of this
resource center is to provide information on bullying. The resource center
will be geared to several types of users (Teachers, School Administrators,
Parents, etc..). We are planning to include several types materials
(Videos, Articles, Books, Curricula, etc..). Finally; we would like to tag
each individual item for appropriateness (Age, Gender, Type of bullying,
etc..). So I have the following questions:
1) Should I have one community or more. For example should I have a
Community for Parents, Students, etc..? I do not think so but I want to
verify.
2) In terms of collections should I have one or more? Again I think
I can have only 1 collection.
3) With respect to adding additional meta-information to an item how
is that done. It should be done item level correct?
In general would you be able to provide a list of resources that
provide a list of resources about providing an overview on the best
practices for developing a digital repository. I have read the Dspace
documentation but am having a difficult time figuring out how best to
implement it.
Thanks in advance.
Andy
