Hello,
As described in bug 8357 the r300 is limited to rendering to a maximal area
with a width of 2650px. This also affects the use of application requirering a
smaller rendering area, when using it behind the magic barrier. In the
discussion of the bug mentioned above Roland Scheidegger comments in comment
#17, that this could be circumvented by using private backbuffers instead of
one shared backbuffer.
I think the dri driver is the right place for this.
