Again, the log you posted appears to be from a freshly-started X Server. I've
run SpecViewPerf past the bit of the log in comment #1 just fine.
SPECViewPerf (like many testing apps other than xtest) does get confused if you
run on a bare X Server like in comment #1. Run some app like xlogo to prevent
server regens.
So, is there an actual server crash involved?
