Can you try setting AGP speed to 8x in your BIOS settings? This is reported to
help for people having similar problems in Ubuntu

I wonder if this is the same issue, or if a new bug should be filed here for
that Ubuntu issue. (There is a lot of noise in that bug report, but it boils
down to 9200-9800 AGP cards.)
