Right now if we hang the chip, we pretty much never recover from it, even when restarting the X Server. While it should be possible to clear most errors for a new X Server start and get the chip going again, we haven't written code for that yet. So, we would need to figure out what MythTV is doing with OpenGL that's causing the hang initially. This will probably mean getting down to the simplest OpenGL program that does what MythTV does to cause the hang.
