The system was up for a whole week but then crashed because I did something
stupid that was totally unrelated to this. I'll run for another week to just to
prove my point. (-;
Interestingly, my test of setting the "bad" version number while using an
earlier version of Mesa/DRI also resulted in a crash. I guess that means the
problem does not lie within Mesa/DRI. I'll have to look at the DDX code.
