Problem Description: When X should start, the screen is randomly colored with
some kind of grid in bottom 2/3 (top 1/3 black). The cursor is visible and can
be moved. Sometimes some parts of eg kdm are painted (eg one button or one
edit filed). Its hard to change to console.
After that some lines like the following appear in the XFree log:

(EE) R128(0): Idle timed out, resetting engine...
And some logs of message:

before
kernel: agpgart: Detected VIA Apollo Pro 133 chipset
***kernel: agpgart: Maximum main memory to use for agp memory: 203M***< does

I know that the bk are for testing, but this problem now exists for at least 3
of them...
If any further information is needed, please tell it...
Steps to reproduce: Dont exactly know. I use a ATI Rage 128 with its modules
compiled in kernel and a via agp-chip...
