Yes - they note the type of primitive and the amount of vertices being sent to the hardware.
These message come from r300_render.c within Mesa 3d driver: r300_driver/r300 directory.
The "Not enough vertices" is a puzzle , I am seeing the same thing of course, but I don't understand why it occurs. It is like Mesa is trying to draw a quad strip with only two vertices.
