Hi,

Yesterday I grabbed Xorg cvs and r300_driver cvs and built and installed
Xorg and drm. The kernel modules loaded fine as dmesg shows:
<--Cut-->
[drm] Initialized drm 1.0.0 20040925
[drm] Initialized radeon 1.12.1 20041216 on minor 0: ATI Technologies
Inc RV350 [Mobility Radeon 9600 M10]
[drm] Used old pci detect: framebuffer loaded
agpgart: Putting AGP V2 device at 0000:00:0b.0 into 1x mode
agpgart: Putting AGP V2 device at 0000:00:10.0 into 1x mode
[drm] Loading R300 Microcode

How ever I get some weird display artifacts in X, see:

Very interesting. The fact that your Powerbook did not lockup means that this is just a command screwed up someplace.

From the screenshot, it could be connected with smoothed fonts, as bitmap
fonts are displayed fine.

Perhaps screwed up endianness with DMA upload ?

A few questions/things to try:

     * what happens when you move windows around ?
Do you ever see artifacts appearing outside of the area
where you move the window ?

     * what happens if you remove Load "Composite" from
       Section "Module" ?

     * As Alex suggested, it would be nice to know whether the
       artifacts persists with DRI off.

                 thank you !

My system is a 15" 1ghz Powerbook running Ubuntu and 2.6.9 kernel.

Let me know if you need any more info.
