I thought I'd read about this problem before, but I can't find any reference
to it anywhere, so maybe I was dreaming it (you know there's problems when
you dream of DRI web searches...).

I've got a Savage/MX-MV 8MB in a Toshiba Tecra 8100 laptop.  Kudos, first
off, to everyone involved in making it work thus far -- it's pretty
impressive stuff.  However, in 24 bit color mode, the first time I run
something that does GL stuff to the screen causes horizontal lines, about
10-20 pixels wide, across the bottom half of the screen, and the GL display
itself is badly corrupted -- it looks longer and thinner, most of the
colours have been pinked, and sections of the non-GL portion of the screen
are painted onto the display.

In 16 bit mode it all works really well, and I'm planning on dusting off Q3A
and going to annoy my wife by disappearing into the Arena to get railed a
few times.  However, there's one game I'd like to play (scorched3d) which
only works in 24bit mode, which is annoying.  I'm working on that side to
get 16bit support, but I think it's likely that the workaround for the bug
in the savage driver isn't going to be "so don't do that then".  <grin>

So, the questions:

1) Has anyone got any references on this bug on how to fix it?

2) Has anyone else with a similar card ever seen this before?

3) Any suggestions on what I can do to help debug this problem?
