Hi again! I found this in a site. I don't know if its true because i haven't
tested it yet: http://users.telenet.be/ze5500/

The link contains:

"XFree86 Graphics with the ATI Radeon IGP 340M

There might very well be a more elegant way to enable hardware 3D accelaration
for the Radeon IGP 340M, but I hope you'll forgive me for just describing the
steps I took to get it working.

I first downloaded the most recent XFree86 development snapshot from
http://www.xfree86.org/develsnaps/ namely XFree86-4.3.99.902 and patched it with
this : XFree86-4.4-20031205-igp.patch

Then I simply followed the build instructions included in the tarball and
compiled a new radeon module by doing a make -f Makefile.linux
LINUXDIR=/usr/src/linux-2.6.2 in
/usr/src/xc/programs/Xserver/hw/xfree86/os-support/linux/drm/kernel

I then copied the radeon.o file produced to
/lib/modules/2.6.2/kernel/drivers/char/drm but even now I still did not get DRI
enabled, so I Google'd some more and learned it was maybe worthwhile to download
a nightly DRI snapshot from http://www.freedesktop.org/~dri/snapshots/ namely
radeon-20040214-linux.i386.tar.bz2

After building this I got a new radeon.o module in
/lib/modules/2.6.2/kernel/drivers/char/drm I just copied that to radeon.ko as
well and started X once more.

Feel free to use my current /etc/X11/XF86Config by the way.

DRI was now fully functioning and glxgears now managed a few thousand FPS more (=

22889 frames in 5.0 seconds = 4577.800 FPS
22897 frames in 5.0 seconds = 4579.400 FPS
22912 frames in 5.0 seconds = 4582.400 FPS
22892 frames in 5.0 seconds = 4578.400 FPS

"

Uau......if it's true, I think that the problem is solved!
