I'm assuming you meant to say, the changes to the Gatos 3D driver were purely to cope with the changes in the Gatos DRM.

OK I mentioned this in my other post, but just to put it in context... I need to undo the 2D initialization change before all else. Any idea what I'm looking for? Next step is to undo the corresponding changes they made to the userspace 3D code. Also, I'm under the assumption that the Gatos ati.2 module (xc/programs/Xserver/hw/xfree86/drivers/ati) contains some code that affects 3D. Those would also have to be updated to reflect changes between (I think) 1.9.0 and 1.10.0, given the 1.10.0 DRM, correct? > Once that is done the GATOS DRM & 3D driver become irrelevant relics. And at that wonderful oh-so-far-away point the Gatos 2D and Xv stuff won't be so hostile to integration with other projects. > All of those DRI changes were, of course, post-4.3.0. Which changes? The Gatos mods, or the aforementioned fixes to the DRI userspace code? Is there any reason I couldn't generate a patch to update the xfree-4.3.0 sources to the current DRI? The thought of trying to merge in the Gatos 2D/Xv while simultaneously updating them to 4.4 gives me shivers up and down the spine... ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net is sponsored by: Speed Start Your Linux Apps Now.
