Hi, When I was compiling the FAQ somebody suggested to use a Wiki. As I wasn't very familiar with the concept I've opted with something more mainstream as DocBook (DB). DB has the advantages of multiple output formats, but after the initial hype the hassle of the edit-convert-check-commit is really showing, causing me to pile up small changes. This was an obstacle even greater for 3rd party contributions. A Wiki seems now a much more viable solution in the long-term.
So I've hacked some quick DocBook->Wiki stylesheet to the the bulk of the conversion, and then hand edited the result to fit the common Wiki structure. I envite everybody to experience it at http://dri.sourceforge.net/wiki/ and contribute! One topic where the Wiki is particularly outdated is regarding the new drivers on the works, (VIA, S3 and SIS). Differently from the former FAQ, this Wiki is not dedicated exclusively to the developers -- user topics are welcome. It would be particularly interesting to concentrate there some of the user information that is scattered on the web. Enjoy, Jose Fonseca PS: SouceForge only has Python 1.5.2, and although MoinMoin supposedly supports it, it was never been tested(!), causing several exceptions. I've tried to fix most of them, but some minor ones on less used features still persist. PPS: SourceForge doesn't allow setuid/setgid CGI scripts, so the Wiki data must be world readable/writable. I have a cron job periadically (daily for the moment) backing-up the data.
