I feel like I own this thread. Really sorry for constantly posting updates
here. But anyway...
I just want to make clear, if it wasn't so clear before, that this is ONLY a
mode-change problem. If I run tuxracer, for example, with a full-screen mode
that is == my current resolution (1280x1024) and no "mode change" occurs, I get
no problems. That holds true for every program I've tried.
So maybe some developers should take a close look at the resolution
changing/video mode switching code, wherever that may be.
