Well, it doesn't seem to be a false alarm any more. I found out that the problem with the kernel build is a known issue between gcc 3.3 and 2.4.20. In addition, I have been able to successfully compile XFree86 4.3.0, without any problems...
So, anyone else have any ideas why I can't get the cvs trunk to compile?
