i've recently instaled x4.2.99 from http://penguinppc.org/~daniels/ on my
debian sid box but dri don't work. I didn't noticed it on x4.2.1
After instalation it started to complain about to old kernel module so i've
installed a newer one
[drm] AGP 0.99 on AMD Irongate @ 0xe8000000 64MB
[drm] Initialized radeon 1.6.0 20020828 on minor 0
but it didn't help.
In log file a can see:

every 3d programs like glxgears or tuxracer work but run very veryy slow
glxgears is about 120-140 fps
my hardware is
mainboard asus k7m on amd 751 (irongate), athlon 600 mhz
and ati radeon 7500 with 64 mb ddr memory
kernel 2.4.20 with preempt patch
