I'm having really strange problems running the X server from the trunk
on one of my Red Hat 8.0 system. It dies with a SIG 11. From running an
strace the last thing I see it do is read the PCI data. I suspect by now
there must be people running RH 8.0, so it is probably something local
to my environment, but I thought I'd ask if anyone has it running under
8.0 and if anyone has ideas what might be going on?
To debug the problem further, I tried building a static
server. Unfortunetly, that doesn't build due to undefined references:
../../programs/Xserver/hw/xfree86/drivers/libdriver.a(atimisc_drv.o): In
function `ATIScreenInit':
/home/daryll/src/SF/xc/xc/programs/Xserver/hw/xfree86/drivers/ati/atiscreen.c:144:
undefined reference to `xf1bppScreenInit'
/home/daryll/src/SF/xc/xc/programs/Xserver/hw/xfree86/drivers/ati/atiscreen.c:150:
undefined reference to `xf4bppScreenInit'
../../programs/Xserver/hw/xfree86/common/libxf86.a(xf86MiscExt.o): In

Hi Daryll,
I've been compiling the trunk and branches on RH8 for about a week
now and haven't seen this.
