Sorry for replying that late - unfortunately I got buried in work since last
weekend so I didn't have the time to run tests.
Fortunately someone already fixed the colours in Jens' "radeon-20020318"
drivers and FlightGear looks quite nice. I put some screenshots on the web
(remember, they're somwhere around 600 kByte each).
The first one is without any special environment set. It's a bit dark but
it looks pretty:

The second one is with environment set as follows:

quickstep: 20:50:49 ~> env | grep RADEON
RADEON_NO_VTXFMT=1
RADEON_NO_TCL=1

The last one was done with stock 4.2.0 drivers:

With or without environment set the 'new' driver binaries almost double the
frame rate in FlightGear. There are still some lockups but mostly the
drivers are quite usuable. Thanks for the effort,
