I suggest you use latest XFree86 CVS (or 4.2.0 if it has been
released) together with gatos ati.2 drivers (also latest - or try the
binaries), km (latest) and drm-kernel from GATOS CVS. 

This should provide for video capture, 3d, TV-playback and XvImage.

Note: the vivo cards _might_ have a problem with TV-in..
