Now I have lokked a bit more into your patch.
1) It doesn't apply (duh !) I think this might be related to your diff 
and/or your mailer. Be sure to make a 'diff -u' and send it gzipped s.t. 
your mailer don't wrap the lines (like mine does :-) ...

2) I think that the Linux part must remain the default (I guess this is the only one 
working right now ;-). 

So I would tend to replace your '#ifdef linux' by '#ifndef __SOLARIS__' or something. 
If I have some spare time today, I'll try to do it... but I have to write a dumb 
report in the meantime :-(

Yep, but I am not sure of who is the original author... Any clue about 
that someone ? What do you think I should put into the header ?

Nope. It used to be accessible through the Utah-GLX web page on Sourceforge, but it is 
no longer there. I found a (helpful) copy on a mailing-list archive through Google.

However, given the interest of this program, I will let it accessible 
through the URL I sent.
