Howzit?

First let me thank you for DRI bringing 3D to my Linx box, its been a while but the
wait was worth it. Mandrake Linux obviously follows DRI.

I have the following proposals regarding the Documentation of the DRI project.

Firstly a block diagram showing how the the various aspects of 3D on Linux fit
together. ie how DRI, XFree86 4.1, the window manager, Linux Kernal, OpenGL, the
actual drivers for various graphics chipsets etc fits together.

This I feel would make it easier to see the big picture of 3D accelleration on Linux,
making it easier for people to see where things are going wrong.

Secondly a Feature Checklist page for each graphics chipset / graphics card (where
apropriate) showing the HW features of each card and whether or not they are
implemnted in DRI / driver or the status of said function.

I am willing to generate these html pages for the DRI website provided I am provide
with plaintext (preferably (g)zipped) stating the name of the graphics chipset, its
manufacturer, a list of its features, and the status of each of these features.

You will receive a nicely formatted, simple, indexed, html page in return for each
chipset / card with a hopefully easy to read / understand tabel showing the features
and their status.

I'm not looking for flames but the last time I checked the DRI website it had a list
of cards and the status of their support, but no mention of features - I feel that
this would represent an improvement.

cheers
Smitty
