Yep, looks like it. Btw, it seems the "BlockHandler" patch fixed this
too. Perhaps, the data was accumulating in large chunks or some such..

This helped, thanks. One more problem though: I get random slowdowns in
KDE 2.2.1. (i.e. if you start glxgears it will freeze once in a while even
though the system isn't doing anything). I believe the error is somehow
connected with "Mouse grab failed" messages, but the interesting part is
that it is very noticable on a Pentium IV system with Radeon, and not very
noticable on PIII-500 with Rage Mobility. The other way to test it is
this: open 4 terminals on a large screen (1600x1200), start top in one of
them and move mouse around so as to cause KDE to switch active windows.
The P-IV system with Radeon shows high (near 100%) cpu utilization, while
systems with Rage Mobility (and Rage Mobility M3) are about
10%. (Note: the radeon card in P-IV system is 1002:5144, 32meg ram).
The other difference between these systems is that P-IV is running Linux
2.4.10 while the other systems use 2.4.9 and 2.4.0-test8. (though, so far,
it seem this does not seem to make any difference).
One more difference is that P-IV is running recent CVS, while other
systems use (almost) plain 4.1.0. I'll try downgrading as soon as I get
some time.
thanks !
