I dont know these specific models, not my personal scope. 
But i would like them to be supported, so that anyone is happy.

i dont know about a time frame. 
but i would say it might happen one after the other.
and the things that are already done for previous cards
are more likely to take place in the new ones first.

It's called agpgart, ask Jeff. ;-) (t=table)

I cant confirm what nVidia is doing there. But they are providing closed 
source drivers only (with except of a few lines for the kernel module). 

Linux is an OS of choices and an OS of OpenSource, 
so i think ATI meets the Linux system much better,
because ATI is providing two distinct choices:
* a closed source driver for the professional CAD user (FireGL products
only)
* and an open source driver (via the DRI folks) for whoever this is helpfull
or of interest.
