I've just got a new Radeon 7500. I've tried to get it working under XFree86 4.1. I get a problem "(EE) No devices detected." I assume this is because the 7500 is not supported as yet. I've downloaded and compiled the CSV tree and stil no joy. XFree reports "(--) PCI:*(1:0:0) ATI unknown chipset (0x5157) rev 0, Mem @ 0xe0000000/27, 0xed000000/16, I/O @ 0xd000/8"
The output of pciscan is pci bus 0x1 cardnum 0x00 function 0x0000: vendor 0x1002 device 0x5157 ATI Device unknown CardVendor 0x1002 card 0x013a (ATI, Card unknown) STATUS 0x02b0 COMMAND 0x0087 CLASS 0x03 0x00 0x00 REVISION 0x00 BIST 0x00 HEADER 0x00 LATENCY 0x20 CACHE 0x08 BASE0 0xe0000008 addr 0xe0000000 MEM PREFETCHABLE BASE1 0x0000d001 addr 0x0000d000 I/O BASE2 0xed000000 addr 0xed000000 MEM MAX_LAT 0x00 MIN_GNT 0x08 INT_PIN 0x01 INT_LINE 0x0b Stupid question: If I muck around with the card definitions in the ati-pci-scan (sorry the exact source name escapes me) adding 0X5157, maybe replacing one of the other values. Am I likely to damage my card, that is assuming I get a compiled tree :) What is the Radeon DDR 64 called, would this be most like the 7500 or the VE card ?
