just compiled installed XFree 4.1 + mesa 3.5 (mesa-3-5 trunk from CVS).
swoop@tweakster:~$ ./gears
5544 frames in 5 seconds = 1108.8 FPS
5600 frames in 5 seconds = 1120 FPS
5602 frames in 5 seconds = 1120.4 FPS
5606 frames in 5 seconds = 1121.2 FPS
5599 frames in 5 seconds = 1119.8 FPS
thats +60 fps more than with Mesa 3.4.2 ! :)))))
