I ought to take a good luck at what we are doing at work. We have a web
solution as par tof our main build, and use NAnt. However we run an exec
task and run DevStudio off the commandline effectively, which would result
in something like:

devenv.exe solution.sln Debug

We make it a habit of setting up each build machine such that anything
required for a build can be executed from a NORMAL command prompt (not the
one provided by the .NET Instal [vsvars.bat]). I personally like this way
of setting up the machine, because some of the processes Draco creates dont
necessarily find everything...for example cvs.exe is assumed to be in the
path, just as nant.exe is. If you set your machine up this way, you can
drop to the command line at any point and debug.

However I need to look at the build at work, because we used to have our web
virtual directory under inetpub:

c:\inetpub\wwwroot\gloria

However one of the team went to TechEd and came back saying this was a
really bad way of setting up the project. Apparently the web structure
should mirror the one in source safe (or just your source control
repository?). I dont believe we have ever had a problem building a the web
app (which is actually the main part of the system). I am intrigued to know
more about how this is working...

Best regards

Nick.
