And if you just do connections to your postgres server, how many
lookups can you do directly?
Do you have any indexes on your tables as well? Can you connect and
do:
select * from USERS_TABLE;
and see what you have, then do an:
explain select id from USERS_TABLE WHERE username =
'[email protected]';
or whatever your query as done by dovecot is, and see what it says on
speeding things up. Even with 60,000 rows of users, that query should be so
quick it's not funny.
