Ciao Amedeo,

This is an old thread I know. I just want to comment about host computer
data. When DDL is running live, no problem, the entire computer
filesystem is mounted read-only into /mnt so that it does not appear
directly in the file browser. Of course a child may navigate to /mnt but
it is read-only! When DDL is installed onto the computer, onto hard
disk, you get a standard (Debian) system. The DDL user don't have admin
rights in this case, while the Live system has sudo rights (= admin
access). So users, as in any Unix system, are not able to change any
file for which they don't have the required rights. Basically they can
only alter their own work.

NB: concerning the proposed changes for the main menu, these sound like
good ideas. Unfortunately it may be difficult to implement right now
because we're relying on software not really flexible for that (the
so-called display manager). I still hope to find a fanatic developer who
would write our main menu from scratch one day so that we get everything
we need :).

Cheers,
JM.
