I think this is a feature, not a bug :). Children who use Mini DoudouLinux are 
not supposed to know reading and writing. Usually they play with the editor to 
display letters and do as if they were able to write! Showing bigger letters 
here is just for fun :). 

If you really want to change this in your own copy of DoudouLinux, just change 
the font size in Gedit preferences. I think this is stored in a gconf file that 
should be modified using the tool gconftool-2 if you want to be sure your 
changes are saved.
