Now that the Doobies have stepped in to help sort out the imix mess, I'm
going to wait and see what imix decides to do. They have yet to respond
to my message.
In the meantime, I fixed my copy. It took much longer to fix the gaps
then I thought it would. First, I attempted a "disc-at-once" mastering
session. The gaps are built into the head and tail of each track so
simply eliminating the pause between cuts will not fix the problem. I
had to use additional software to edit out the silence before and after
each cut and then a "disc-at-once" session did the trick.
It was a very tedious, time consuming edit but I now have a master that
is flawless. It is perfect. Each track flows seamlessly from one song to
the next. There is nothing missing and ALL the comments from the boys
are included. Best of all, the entire live concert fits perfectly on ONE
74 minute CD!
I also lowered the level by 6db. Today's CD's are mastered at too high
of a level and actually introduce distortion and pops to the CD. I
lowered the level to where it should be.
If imix does NOT provide a fix, I may offer to make copies of this
corrected CD to the Fan Club. You would have to send me proof that you
purchased the CD from imix before I could help you. Let's wait and give
the imix folks a chance to learn how to burn a proper CD before this
offer goes into effect. I'd like to see everyone in the Fan Club have a
copy of the Live CD that they can enjoy WITHOUT having to put up with
those annoying gaps in between songs. If they refuse to give us any
satisfaction, I'll make sure everyone gets a professional sounding CD.
