I also opened under Okular in Kubuntu 20.04 and had no issues except a
delay in rendering the page.

I had not compared to the 6.x edition covers, but I suspect the
complexity of the 7.0 drawing may put a toll on the vector processing
and turn some machines quite slow and memory hungry.
