I don't understand the comment about GitHub not accepting .odt files.
The problem may be the need to add additional binary file extensions to a
.gitattributes file. See mine at [docEng](https://github.com/orcmid/docEng).
It looks like openoffice-docs has no .gitignore and .gitattributes files in
its \<code\>.
