I see a thread here about a proposed new EXPIRE operation. I hope we can solicit these with an initiator-side EDNS option so that these are never sent to initiators who can't handle them, and I hope that both the endpoint and the session-layer authentication can be specified by the initiator.
That would make cache invalidation similar to the NQLEASE functionality in NFS for the attribute cache -- which has been a huge win over the years. -- Paul Vixie
