In my assessment, the scope continues to be underspecified in defining what protocol work should be done in this WG as opposed to other WGs or parts of the IETF. The mechanics of the approach to resolve the is ambiguity as listed in “Whether the DNS protocol maintenance is better handled by a new WG or be kept in DNSOP will be open for community discussion in 2 years. The WG will recharter in 2 years to take into account the outcome of that discussion” remains opaque.
