hey all!
Small intro/background :) I've been trying to use (Geo)Django to
develop some kind of a research environment for the past 5 weeks. I'm
completely new to programming, so ^^noob-alert!^^ However, I've been
reading _a lot_ the past weeks and did various tutorials on (geo)
Django and Python :)
Anyway, I was trying to build a sort of "homepage" where I want to
show the results of different apps. For that i've coded an XHTML &
CSS, where I can insert template-tags later on. So, for now, it's
plain xhtml, which functions as a demo-layout of what to come. I was
trying to do as following:
- XHMTL and CSS documents are located in the Templates dir in my
project dir.
- The Templates dir is specified in the settings of the project
- The urls.py looks as following:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
from django.conf.urls.defaults import *
from django.views.generic.simple import direct_to_template
# Uncomment the next two lines to enable the admin:
from django.contrib import admin
admin.autodiscover()
urlpatterns = patterns('',
# Example:
# (r'^reco/', include('reco.foo.urls')),
(r'^$', 'direct_to_template', {'template': 'project_gi.html'}),
# Uncomment the admin/doc line below and add
'django.contrib.admindocs'
# to INSTALLED_APPS to enable admin documentation:
# (r'^admin/doc/', include('django.contrib.admindocs.urls')),
# Uncomment the next line to enable the admin:
(r'^admin/(.*)', admin.site.root),
)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When I try to acces the root (http://127.0.0.1:8000/), then it comes
up with a TypeError, 'str' object is not callable. In the local vars
it refers to direct_to_template.
I hope the info I gave is sufficient. If you need more, please ask.
Any help is appreciated!
