The spam is already being limited. What isn't happening is that it's being reduced to zero. This list counts as a very high volume list and Django is a popular project with high visibility. As such, we're a target for spammers wanting to appear in search engine. Google's filtering catches a lot. The rest unfortunately, slips through. Life's like that on the Internet.
