Dear Guardians of the Django Universe, My name is Divya Soni, and I'm second year CSE Undergrad from India. I want to participate in GSoC 2021, and have been looking at The Django Foundation as one of my possible options. I need your advice about my particular situation.
I'm well versed in Object Oriented Programming in C++ and have used Python before. I have also been working with HTML, CSS, Javascript and React for a while. However, I have not used Django very much. It is something that I've always wanted to learn, but never got the chance to. So I was thinking that in the almost 4 months that I have before the proposal deadline next year, I could dive into Django and become proficient enough so that I can contribute to the project. However, I have no way to gauge how plausible such an idea is. So rather than spending time trying to figure it out by hit and trial, I thought it'd be a lot better to ask someone who'd know about it the best - you guys! Hence, my email. Please let me know what your thought are on my idea. Would I be able to gain enough proficiency in the time frame that I have? Or is it a bit too optimistic? Also, thank you for the amazing work that all of you do here!
