Remember that many people on this mailing list (me included) are people just like you, so we can only give you feedback and maybe some additional ideas. The best course of action is probably to write a mail in which you sum up the discussion so far, highlight some controversial points, and describe why you decided the way you did in your implementation. At least that is what I would do. The critical part in my experience is to convince people that this should be included in django itself rather than a third party library.
